Our workshop sessions are different. While we can present on any journalism topics you need, we love to use the Design Thinking process (the same one Google and Apple use) to teach students how to create incredible student publications. This process breaks down graphic communications and design, and allows students to get moving, be creative, and take learning into their own hands. Students become idea-generating-machines through hands-on activities, interactive worksheets, funny illustrations, and lots and lots of sticky notes.

Limited bandwidth?

Let us help! We can help with every aspect of your workshop, from curriculum planning, coordinating logistics, to booking the venue to designing the program and stuffing the swag bags - all of it!

You are involved as little or as much as you want to be!

Just need a speaker for your workshop? We do that, too, of course!
Here are a few of our most common presentations: theme development, photography, color, visual & verbal connection, layout design, trends, coverage & content, planning, organization, running an online news site, social media & branding, etc.

Have something else in mind? Contact us! We can create a custom experience for you.

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Katie on multiple projects, most recently our National Yearbook Workshop. We were thrilled with her energy, creativity, and commitment to the event budget & timeline. It’s rare to find someone with extensive knowledge of scholastic journalism, with the technical & creative skills to match. Katie has both. Two thumbs up!”
